dance -such a dance as the people of
the atoll have never seen before.
(Matahi does the drumming first, Reri
dancing alone. Then Matahi, unable
to stay away from her any longer,
hands the sticks over to one of the
natives - an older one who still might
know the dance - and joins Reri
dancing.]
