[Fade in on the Chinese store. There
is a lamp in the store now. The
policeman is sitting in front of the
desk, several empty bottles before
him. His uniform coat is un-
buttoned. He wears his helmet way
back against the back of his neck.
He sweats and fans himself with a
cloth, because in front of him money
is being counted by several Chinamen
in big heaps. The Chinaman on his
counting-board is adding. The police
man, licking his fingers, is having
a hard time counting all the money
that is piled before him. While we
show him counting we fade out.]
