Behind desk of the Chinaman who gives
information should be a poster advertising a
steamship company, with a calendar on it. When
Reri asks for information about boats we see the
Chinaman with his pencil point to a date on this
calendar, which is about three days ahead of the
day on which Reri asks. We know this because
all the dates that are past are crossed out on
the calendar; so that after the fade-out scene
of Matahi and Reri counting their money (X-379),
we would see in a very big close-up how these
three days are crossed out. Then we would over-
lap to the date of the boat‘s arrival; then fade
in on Reri sleeping and Matahi entering (X-380.)
